Workshop Descriptions

Technical Virgin

The reality is that while you may have decided to save sex for marriage, you may still be doing
everything else - just not going "all the way". So where should you draw the line? Being a technical virgin is not the answer. This attitude can wreak both emotional and spiritual havoc on your life It can also create distance and lessen your ability to bond with people. Even innocent playing around, like back rubs or tickling fights, could be setting the stage for something more.  Learn why and answer questions like, "Have I gone too far? What is too far? If I've messed up, will God forgive me? What should I do from now on?"

Church is for Girls!

“Modern churches are women’s clubs with a few male officers.” In recent decades, women have increasingly out-numbered men in American and Western churches. Whether young boys, teens, or adults, males are often unable to connect with the church…or is the church failing to connect with them? Are the Christian virtues Jesus promoted more masculine or feminine in nature? Are men being repelled by a feminized church? So guys, come discover some reasons you or your buddies may feel out of place in God’s church at times. Ladies, come find out what you may need to do to help reverse this dangerous trend.

“Seeing the Cross-Centered Life in the Life of John Bunyan”

The challenge for Christian young people today is not how to say no to the world and its vain, empty pleasures. The challenge is embracing the cross as way of daily life. John Bunyan's life as a teenage was probably far from ordinary for our day, but he himself was just an ordinary young man. Yet when God led Bunyan by His grace to the cross, John Bunyan lived an extraordinary life through all kinds of hardships and persecution. We will learn how we may live abundantly today from Bunyan's discovery that the embrace of the cross is the only way to truly live.
