March 8, 2007, Thursday

Tonight, Esther and I went to Junior High School Musical performance which Deborah was part of it.  It was a great production, a lot of efforts from school staffs, students, and parents.  The cast got all the spotlight, kids’ admiration, and loudest applause from the audience and parents.

Inevitably, I thought about Lydia that she would never be able to attend junior high school, not able to have any chance at all to be part of this (not even in the audience seats, with mom and dad, and sisters, and a lot of friends who are enjoying the show here so much).

One can arguably imagine that in the heaven something much better is going on.  Yeah, but mom and dad, and sisters and friends are not there with her.  (The hope and faith tell me that the Lord Jesus beats mom and dad, and sisters and friends combined, by far.)

In the mean time, of course, we know that there are kids in the Children’s hospital just struggling to survive.  Not have the chance to be part of the musical, not have the chance even to sit in the audience.  Suffering is all they endure everyday.  No spotlight, no glamour.  We gave them applause with their courage.  Deep in our mind, we felt fortunate that we don’t need to suffer like them.

Is life fair?  No, definitely not.  Some people therefore decided to eat and drink and be happy NOW.

That is not what the Bible tells us.  We need to take heart for the LORD’S DAY will come, in the most unexpected way.

I thank many who were concerned about my emotional wellness.  I am better after all your prayers.  Thank you and praise the Lord.

Thank many of you support Esther’s Relay for Life campaign.  Your participation and support meant a lot to us.  Our hearts go to the people affected by the cancer in a ruthless way…
