Why are people afraid of death?  There may be several possibilities:

Don’t believe there is afterlife?  Thinking being alive is better than dead?

Never been there, too many unknowns?  Out of their own control?

Scared of going to hell?

Scared of facing judgment, or God?

Scared of the suffering before death?

Could not leave the enjoyment on earth?

Could not leave the loved ones behind?

The last one is very true.  It was specially heart breaking if the departed one is a young child (somewhat helpless) who is already know a lot of things and very affectionate and emotional.  It is also hard to endure if the death is a slow process with the prolonged suffering.

Why is God so cruel to make Lydia suffer and at the end take Lydia away from us?

That is because the life after death is much better than earthly life for those who believe Jesus died and rose again as promised in the Bible. (1 Thessalonians 4:13,14)

Why is God so cruel to leave us behind and suffer such unbearable loss and other countless sufferings in daily lives?

To remind us that the earth is not our home, although we suffer now, our eternal destination is with the Lord. (1 Peter 1:6)

For those who have this knowledge in the head only, not deeply believe in the heart, not exercise in their lives, then something is still missing… still at risk…

Therefore, don’t be surprise when there are sufferings in life. (1 Peter 4:13)

Thank God for the Bible and the inspiration.
