February 5, 2007, Monday

We had warmest December not long ago, and now we have the coldest February... (Does the world come to the end?  I would be so excited.)

Outside, the wind chill is way below zero degrees.

Inside, the chill to my bone is that, (the truth), life is so tough, filled with so much suffering.

“What a heavy burden God has laid on men!” Ecclesiastes 1:13.

Look at my own several decades of life so far.  Life is indeed full of difficulty (started long before Lydia was born to be my daughter).  Look at people around the globe.  Same thing, human lives are very difficult.  Many sinned and caused the suffering, but there were also many innocent who suffer…

Come to think of it.  I am happy for Lydia (honestly) that she does not need to endure all of these.

Lydia was very sensitive, passionate, thoughtful and considerate.  She was born like that.  However, that also means she would be very vulnerable to the suffering, and sorrow.  I have no doubt that she could overcome the adversity in life.  For whatever reason, God thinks she did not need to go through those on earth.

As for me, and many who know the story of Lydia, how about our life?  There seems to be only one answer making sense.

“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter:

Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.”

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14.

God is in control.  We only need to keep faith in Him.  The Lord never makes mistakes.  He could have kept Lydia alive, but He did not…

“God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Genesis 50:20.
