A sister was trying to preach the Gospel to a
stranger. She took out the pamphlet of “Four Spiritual Laws” and asked
that person to read every single word on it. At the end, she led that person
to read the prayer of accepting Christ. Then she declared to her: “Congratulation,
now you are a Christian.” Then she never saw that person again. This sister
was happy because she thought she has accomplished her duty of preaching the
Gospel once more.
What is the Gospel? We often think to preach the
Gospel is to lead a person to believe in Christ, or to present the story of
Jesus’ redemption. Actually, the Gospel covers the entire Bible. It not only
tells God’s redemption plan for human race, but also tells how men can build
a personal relationship with God. Simply speaking, sharing Gospel is to
answer the following four questions:
1. Who is the Creator of the universe? 2. What
cause men cannot know this Creator? 3. How God comes to solve this problem?
4. How can we build a long last relationship with God? We can answer these
four questions simply, or use the entire biblical theologies to answer it.
The Gospel is like a spiral cone, not on the plane of principles but a three
dimensional experience. The more you experience the Gospel, the deeper you
will experience it. Ultimately, you will unite with God at the end point.
When we preach the Gospel, we need not only to
answer these questions, but also have to tell others that It is the channel
of God’s grace to men. Only through His Words, the entire Bible, men can correctly
understand the full content of the Gospel. Besides, we have to experience the
Gospel every day in order to receive the fullness of God’s grace. For
example, God is not only the Creator of all and He has His attributes and
controls human history. When
we confront our sins, we are not only restoring our relationship with God, but also in a spiritual battle. Christ
does not just save us once at the point of our salvation, but continues to
save us from our daily struggles against sins and showed his resurrection
power through it. To become a Christian is to abide in Christ and live a
godly life that sole relies on Holy Spirit to lead us in very everything and
Preaching the Gospel is the God- given duty for
every Christian, and we should make sure to do it correctly: preach the
complete Gospel; or lest we will be like a blind leading another blind and
ends up in a pit together.
