when the first group of immigrants who arrived providentially to what is
known now as New England, also with the help from local Indians, survived the
first severe winter, and celebrated together for the harvest. Thanksgiving is
the time of giving thanks to God and giving thanks to others who help us.
Therefore, the first thing we should do is to count God’s blessings. If it is
not God who gives us health, gives us opportunities, wisdom and capability,

times we say thanks with our mouths but we don’t have any actions. This is
not true thanksgiving. We should write a thank you card, or send a small gift
to those who helped us to show our appreciation. We also should help the

them is the true meaning of giving. Thanksgiving is not a season of eating
and drinking, but a time to share God’s abundant grace.
