1. 月主題:禱告的信心

2. 使用耳機聽翻譯的弟兄姐妹,請盡量坐在會堂左側(靠近翻譯室),否則會有雜音干擾。我們也希望會眾能於崇拜時關閉手機,以減少電波干擾。

3. 主日守望禱告會﹕每主日上午八時三十分,在本堂六號課室,歡迎弟兄姊妹來同心禱告。

4. 成人主日學春季班﹕今天主日開始春季班課程,每主日915-1030

5. 日光節約時間3/9日開始施行,請於週六睡前將時鐘撥快一小時。

6. 兒童主日學的需要報告2014-15年度,仍需有4-5位教師參與教學;7/21-25,本堂兒童暑期班需要一位總負責聯絡人,有負擔者請與黃佐治弟兄聯絡。

8. 美聖堂擴堂計劃﹕剛完成草圖階段,進入尋求各堂事工協調會的建議。為此,本堂事工協調會將於3/16日主日崇拜後舉行特別會議,請同工和弟兄姊妹踴躍參加,備有午餐。

1. This month’s theme: Praying with Faith.

2. Everyone, please turn off cell phones during Worship, so as not to interfere with mic transmission. Those requiring earphones for translation: Please try to sit on the left hand corner (near the translation room) otherwise there may be interference.

3. Sunday Morning Watch and Prayer Meeting: every Sunday morning 8:30 am at Compton, in Room 6. Welcome bros and sis to pray.

4. Spring semester of Adult Sunday School: Classes began today at 9:15 am - 10:30 am.

5. Daylight Savings Time: will begin on 3/9, please set your clock forward 1 hour on Sat. before going to bed.

6. Important Announcement for Children’s Sunday School: For 2014-2015 school year, we need 4-5 teachers to teach. There is a need for Compton VBS coordinator (7/21-7/25). If you have a burden, please contact Bro. George Wong.

7. Elder Candidates: Bro. Chia-yang Liu and Bro. Shenghe Zhan have been nominated to be elders, it will discussed at the Coworkers meeting on 3/26. Please pray for them.

8. Mason Expansion Plan: the blueprints have been completed and now seeking input from other congregation; MC. After Worship service on 3/16 there will be a MC meeting. Please be prayerful and attend this meeting.

9. CESNA: eight topics will be taught in Cincinnati by Abraham Huang, PhD. After completion there will be a certificate. The first topic is The Bible and the Family (5/15-5/18, Thur. to Sun. 20hrs.). Please contact Bro. Paul Su for details. Each class is $100, please make check out to CESNA.

10. Blessings Fellowship Meeting: Sat. 3/8, 10:00 am at Mason. Please invite elderly friends to attend. Lunch will be provided. Speaker: Min. KC Fang.

說方言

 

  「因為神不是叫人混亂,乃是叫人安靜」(林前1433

二十世纪以来,三波的靈恩運動,帶給普世教會活力和更新,同時也產生一些的副作用,造成教會的分裂和混亂。我們要從其中吸取好的教訓,同時要能分辨不好的操作,以免收之桑榆,失之東隅。在歷年靈恩運動中,最叫人困惑的就是說方言。

聖經中對方言的教訓,都集中在使徒行傳的事例,和保羅在對哥林多教會的教訓中。首先,新約並沒有用一個特殊的字來說明方言,都是用「舌頭」

同樣的字;而這個字可以作多層用法,要看上下文而定。可以解釋為「外國語言」(徒24),或是「某種聲音」(林前146)。因此反對說方言的人認為,今天已經沒有方言的恩賜(林後138);贊成方言的人說,是個人靈裏的禱告(林後1414),都有聖經依據。

   其次,保羅用一整章聖經,來強調哥林多教會說方言的問題,而不鼓勵人說方言,因為方言容易造成教會的混亂(林前1423)。他強調要說別人聽的懂的話,要在心志上成長。今天有人教導說方言是屬靈的表現,其實未必。因為說方言很容易假裝,說的人如果真的不能控制自己,可以是出於聖靈的感動,也可以出于謊言的靈之影響(王上2222)。因為有人有過說方言的經歷,下次沒有感動,也可以模仿以前的經歷而說。至于方言用教出來的方法去學,更是不對。還有說,方言是得救的憑據,這完全不合聖經真理。最多只能說,像掃羅王一樣,說方言是受靈感,自己不能控制而已(撒上1924)。但也不能否認,一些說方言的經歷,確實給弟兄姐妹帶來靈裏的復興。

   其實不要把說方言看的太神秘,那不過是個人的禱告而已。但成為教會的一份子,我們要追求同心合意,彼此造就,而要制止利用某些屬靈的恩賜,造成混亂的人。因此,我們不會鼓勵人追求說方言,而是要追求被聖靈充滿。

 Speaking in Tongues

  “For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.”       (1 Cor. 14:33)

 Since the twentieth century, there were three waves of the charismatic movement, bringing vitality and renewal to the universal Church, but also had some side effects, resulting in the church division and confusion.   From which we can learn a lesson, and distinguish between functions, “an initial loss, can turn into gain later” .  The Charismatic Movement, the most confusing topic is “speaking in tongues”.
   In the book of Acts, and Paul’s writing to the Corinthians, we find teaching on speaking in tongues.

First, the New Testament does not use a particular word to explain dialect, rather using the word "tongue" all the time the same word; and this word can be used for multi-usage, depending on the context.  It can be interpreted as a "foreign language" (Acts 2:4), or "some kind of voice" (1 Corinthians 14:6).  Therefore those that oppose “speaking in tongues” believe there is no gift of tongues today (2 Corinthians 13:8); but those that favor speaking in tongues say that it is a personal spiritual prayer (2 Corinthians 14:14), both have biblical basis.

Second, Paul used a whole chapter of the Bible to the church at Corinth to emphasize the issue of tongues, rather than encouraging people to speak in tongues, because the church was likely to be in confusion due to tongues (I Corinthians 14:23).  He stressed that people should speak to be understood, and adult in thinking.  Today it is taught that tongues is a spiritual manifestation; in fact, not necessarily so.  Speaking in tongues is easy to pretend, people who speak cannot control themselves, could be because of the Spirit and/or be influenced by a lying spirit (1 Kings 22:22).  Some people have had the experience of speaking in tongues, but not touched by the Spirit later, you could also mimic a previous experience.  If you are taught tongues, then this of course is wrong.

There are some that say that tongues is evidence of salvation, which is totally unbiblical.  The most you can say like, King Saul he was inspired and spoke in tongues, but was not able to control it (Samuel 19:24). We cannot deny that some experience speaking in tongues, were spiritually revived.
   In fact, don’t view speaking in tongues as mysterious, but just as a personal prayer.  But if it is an issue of the church, we want to be in one accord, edifying one another, and prevent misuse of certain spiritual gifts, which confuses people.  Therefore, we do not encourage people to pursue speaking in tongues, but to be filled by the Holy Spirit.
