2. 主日守望禱告會﹕每主日上午八時三十分,在本堂六號課室,歡迎弟兄姊妹來同心禱告。

3. 新執事訓練會﹕元月十九日週六上午九時三十分,在美聖堂舉行,請新執事、卸任執事們參加。請為聚會代禱。

4. 姊妹禱告退修會﹕元月十九日週六上午十一時至下午四時,在美聖堂舉行,請預備心參加。

5. 校園團契同工會﹕元月十九日週六晚上六時,在陳琴心姊妹家舉行,邀請團契弟兄姊妹參加。

6. 本堂事工協調會﹕元月二十日主日崇拜後1230在體育館樓上舉行,備有午餐,請團契、小組長、事工負責人務必參加,歡迎弟兄姊妹都來參加。

10. “上癮的真相”課程暨專題講座1/25-27日,哥城教會舉行,作家王倩倩姊妹,講授青少年上癮問題面面觀,報名單和課程介紹在進口處桌上,歡迎取閱,詳情請洽蘇欣弘弟兄。

2. Sunday Morning Watch and Prayer Meeting: every Sunday morning 8:30 am at Compton, in Room 6.

3. New Deacons Training Meeting: will be on Sat. Jan. 19, 9:30am at Mason. New and former Deacons please attend. Please pray for the meeting.

4. Sisters Prayer Retreat: will be on Sat. Jan. 19, 11:00am to 4:00pm at Mason. Please prepare your heart to attend.

5. Campus Fellowship Coworkers Meeting: will be on Sat. Jan. 19, 6:00pm at Sis. Debbie Jiang’s house. Bros and Sis that attend the fellowship are invited to attend.

6. Compton Ministry Coordination Meeting: will be on Sun. Jan. 20, 12:30pm at upper room of gym. Lunch will be provided. Small group, fellowship leaders, and those responsible for ministry must attend. Welcome bros and sis to attend.

7. Love Feast: will be on Sun. Jan. 27, after Worship service, Thanks to Anderson fellowship for preparing the meal and ANC + Youth Group for setting and cleaning up. Please stay and enjoy the wonderful fellowship in the Lord.

8. Combined Prayer Meeting: will be on Wed. Jan. 30, 7:30am at Mason. Please attend this prayer ministry.

9. 2013 Youth Group Retreat: 2/15-2/17 (Fri. to Sun.) at YMCA’s Camp Kern. 7th graders to 12th graders are invited to attend. Final deadline for registration is 1/27/13 of $135. Parents please encourage your Youth to attend.

好老師

 

 「師傅雖有一萬,為父的卻是不多」(林前415

主耶穌被稱為最偉大的教師,不單是因為祂愛祂的學生,作他們的榜樣,活出祂教的道理,解決他們的難題;更是因為祂善用各樣的方法教學。

 實物教學法—幾乎每一樣門徒熟悉的生活用具,主耶穌都可以用來當作教具﹕油燈,酒袋,衣裳,錢幣。這樣使學生能馬上聯係到應用,在使用這些用具時,可以重復思想道理的意義。

 比喻故事法—往往深奧的道理用簡單的比喻一講解,人們就明白,而且能牢記在心。主耶穌用過的比喻不下三十個;撒種,收割,捕魚,點燈,浪子,找錢。每一個都給人留下深刻印象。

 演講證道法—當然這是最基本的教學方式,能立時教育廣大的群眾。在無擴音器和電腦的時代,如何吸引住大家注意;又能用最小的力氣,達到最大的效果,這就是教師的智慧了。

 行動示範法—主耶穌清晨去曠野禱告,為門徒準備早餐,和送葬的人同哭,去看望生病的人;這些都是用實際行動教導門徒怎樣去關心別人。親自示範有很大的鼓勵作用,使學生願意去行道。

 問題討論法—小組的討論最能刺激大家的思維,產生較完整的答案。主耶穌常給個問題,要門徒去彼此討論。要他們去討論如何解決五千人吃飯問題,祂要門徒討論祂是誰等等。

 辯論反問法—主耶穌常常和法利賽人辯論,為要他們看見自己的盲點。祂也會反問提問題的人,例如談納稅的問題,談有罪的女人問題,談承受永生問題,都讓提問題的人深入思考問題。

 角色扮演法—主耶穌以自己的行動來說明真理。例如祂登山變像,祂作僕人洗門徒的腳,祂叫拉撒路復活自己卻哭了。叫人知道我們應當擔任的角色。

 作一個好老師不容易,要有為父的心更不容易。我們應當謙卑的向主學習。

Good Teacher

  “Even though you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers.” (1 Cor. 4:15)

   Jesus has been recognized as the greatest teacher ever, not because of he loves his students, being their role model, living out his own teaching, but also his methodologies.

  1. Pedagogy of daily usages- Almost any real life tool can be used as teaching aids by Jesus: oil lamps, wine bags, clothes, coins etc.  Students can easily understand the significance of the truth when they daily use these appliances.

  2. Pedagogy in metaphor- Often profound truths can be explained with a simple analogy.  People will understand it better when they rethink it.  There are more than thirty parables that Jesus used: sowing, harvesting, fishing, lighting, finding money, the prodigal son, etc.

  3. Pedagogy in preaching- This is the most common way of teaching.  In the era of no amplifiers or computers, keeping the attention of a large audience can be difficult.  It was Jesus’ wisdom that achieved maximum results with minimum effort.

  4. Pedagogy in being role model- Jesus prayed in the wilderness early in the morning, he prepared breakfast for disciples, he cried at the funeral, he visited the sick, etc.  He practiced what he taught and encouraged his disciples to live as they were taught.

  5. Pedagogy in discussion- Small group discussion can best stimulate student’s thinking, resulting in better learning.  Jesus always gave his disciples a topic and let them to discuss it; solving the problem of feeding five thousand or who he is.

  6. Pedagogy in debating- Jesus often debated with Pharisees to show their blind spots. He replied questions people asked with questions; such as, the topic of taxes, the woman caught in adultery, how to receive eternal life, etc.  It allows people to think deeper in their issues.

  7. Pedagogy in different roles- Jesus used action to illustrate the truth.  His transfiguration, his washing of the disciple’s feet, his weeping before Lazarus tomb, etc.  This is a good way of letting students know their roles.

   Being a good teacher is not easy, and having a father’s heart even harder.  We should be humble and learn from our Master.Alpha
